2008 SniperWeek West

Conference and Challenge

San Diego, CA

October 2 - 5, 2008

$140 Complete Conference

$140 for Challenge Only

$250 for All Four Days (Fees are per person)

This is a unique training event for police snipers. SniperWeek West will be held at the San Diego County Firearms Training Center, 440 Alta Road, San Diego, CA 92158. Our co-host is the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Detail.

SniperWeek West begins with a two-day sniper training conference.   Snipers and sniper team leaders are encouraged to attend both days, as we will have topics of interest to all throughout. Planned topics include operational debriefings, discussions on establishing, training and managing a sniper program, an extended presentation on use of force issues, the latest information on night vision equipment and tactics, and intermediate barriers. Attendance is open to all police and military personnel.  Agency ID is required at check-in.

Scheduled Speakers Will Include:

      • Michael Tucker - Author of the sniper book RONIN
      • Lt. Paul Renkas - Waukesha County, WI Sheriff's Office
      • More to come

SniperWeek West concludes with the Pacific Challenge, in which Sniper/Observer teams compete head-to-head in a highly-challenging series of events which have historically served as a comprehensive training exercise and proven to be great fun. These courses will test and validate the team's overall sniping skills; including judgment, tactics and shooting under induced stress.

Participation is open only to active, certified police SWAT team and military personnel.

Competitors will consist of two-man sniper/observer teams. Single snipers will be paired up at the tournament. There is a 60 team limit.  Registration deadline is September 26, 2008, or when we reach our team limit, whichever comes first. Due to space limitations, early registration is strongly advised.  Spots are not confirmed, until payment is received.

The course will be physically and mentally demanding and shooters should be in good condition.

This is a training event. All participants in the tournament will receive a training certificate. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top five teams.

All shooters will be expected to adhere to strict safety policies throughout the tournament. All rules, courses of fire and necessary equipment will be outlined in your confirmation email.

If you have any questions about the event, please contact Snipercraft, at (954) 389-0829.  If you have questions regarding the Training Center or shipping, please contact Mike Forbes, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, (619) 876-9664. Send all registrations to Snipercraft. Forms can be faxed to (954) 389-0829, but again, participation is not confirmed, until payment is received.

The host hotel is the Town & Country Resort, located in Mission Valley.  The group rate is $99 per night.  This includes free parking and a complimentary continental breakfast.  For reservations, call the hotel, at 800-772-8527. Be sure to mention you are with the Snipercraft group.  The room block expires September 6, so make your reservations early.

REGISTRATION FEES ARE PER PERSON.
